CAD Telecom/GIS Technician

CAD Technician for Telecommunication Company. Work with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Map 3D. Design and drafting for ariel and underground fiber optic cable installation,  plans include backbone, ariel, laterals, butterfly’s, and traffic control plans.  Additional responsibilities included field survey data collection both manually and electronically, also prepared plans. Wireless cell sites.  Drawing include plotting Right-of-Way on plans for base drawings, working with aerial photos as base drawings, reading and interpreting survey field notes, plotting survey data from GPS shape files using AutoCAD Civil 3D software.   Work included meet and confer with clients and public agency officials, assist an obtaining permits.

 

10/12 ~ 8/13      PG&E – Walnut Creek/San Ramon CA

PFL Quality Control Engineer

Utilized PG&E’s GIS database system (GasMap 2.0) to extract pipeline data for comparison and validation with as-built drawings, specifications, material requisitions, transport documents, inspection reports, testing reports, and other related records for pipeline system components for Pacific Gas and Electric Company natural gas transmission lines. Evaluated these documents for accuracy and traceability for creating a Pipeline Features List (PFL).

 

8/11 ~ 9/12      Praxis Associates – Vallejo CA CAD Engineering/GIS Technician

Civil/GIS Technician for Telecommunication Company. Duties also included management of CAD system and software, training staff on new software upgrades. Also produce weekly and monthly reports on status of Unit.

Lead civil drafter- responsibilities included manual drafting (ink on mylar) and CAD drafting in the Pipeline Drafting Unit of EBMUD. Work included drafting of large diameter pipes, plan and profile, topo maps, pipe construction details for pipe installation. Produced based drawings from field survey notes
